O P E N :
B U S I N E S S - B L U E - I C T

computer is a programmable machine designed to carry out a sequence of arithmetic or logical operations. A computer has 4 basic operations- input, processing, output and storage.A computer converts (processing) data (input) into information (output) and store in memory (storage) for future use.

Basically, a computer consists of two components – software and hardware.
Hardware is the electrical and/or mechanical parts of computer (i.e.: all parts of computer that you can touch are called hardware).

Software is also called program which is a series of related instructions. There are two types of software, namely system software and application software. System software is built in order to run computer hardware such as Microsoft Window 7, Linux Ubuntu. Application software is built for different tasks  for example Adobe Photoshop CS4, Kaspersky 2012.

Information and communications technology

Information and communications technology or information and communication technology, usually called ICT, is often used as an extended synonym for information technology (IT), but is usually a more general term that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals), intelligent building management systems and audio-visual systems in modern information technology. ICT consists of all technical means used to handle information and aid communication, including computer and network hardware, communication middle ware as well as necessary software. In other words, ICT consists of IT as well as telephony, broadcast media, all types of audio and video processing and transmission and network based control and monitoring functions. The expression was first used in 1997 in a report by Dennis Stevenson to the UK government and promoted by the new National Curriculum documents for the UK in 2000.

ICT is often used in the context of "ICT roadmap" to indicate the path that an organization will take with their ICT needs. The term ICT is now also used to refer to the merging (convergence) of audio-visual and telephone networks with computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives (huge cost savings due to elimination of the telephone network) to merge the audio-visual, building management and telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of cabling, signal distribution and management. This in turn has spurred the growth of organizations with the term ICT in their names to indicate their specialization in the process of merging the different network systems.

"ICT" is used as a general term for all kinds of technologies which enable users to create access and manipulate information. ICT is a combination of information technology and communications technology.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the interactions among devices, systems, and people are growing rapidly. Businesses need to meet the demands of their employees and customers to allow for greater access to systems and information. All of these communications needs must be delivered in a unified way. By offering a scalable infrastructure, cloud computing models enable companies to work smarter through more agile and cost-effective access to technology and information. This unified platform reduces costs and boosts productivity across a business and beyond. Part of an information and communications technology roadmap should involve consolidating infrastructures, while providing added benefits to users in collaboration, messaging, calendaring, instant messaging, audio, video, and Web conferencing. Cloud computing is driving more efficient IT consumption and delivery and taking ICT to the next level.

In third session we learnt about input, output devices, storage devices and other peripheral devices. On that day we learnt what Input is and what the input devices are. It was very interesting. Input devices is hardware which allow us to enter data into the computer. The keyboard, mouse, touch screen  pen input, game pad, light gun, digital cameras, voice input, video input  as well as Scanners and some reading devices.. etc are the most common input devices that I have learned from from this session.

         INPUT DEVICES

Another kind of input devices are scanner and reading devices such as optical scanner, optical reader, bar code reader, magnetic stripe card readers, MICR etc. Then we learnt about output devices. Output devices are those hardware which convey information to the users. Display devices, printers, speaker etc are the common output devices.

                                       OUTPUT DEVICES
Another part of the session was about the output devices. There we had to learn about Display devices, Printers and speakers. However the third session was quite interesting and important than the other sessions. I could learn more new thing from that session which will be helpful me in my future studies.Digital cameras  as well as Scanners and some reading devices. Another part of the session was about the output devices.

STORAGE DEVICES

There we had to learn about Display devices, Printers and speakers. The final part was about storage devices. We got to know about the hard discs, flash memories, cloud storage and optical storage such as DVD, CD, and VCD. However the third session was quite interesting and important than the other sessions. I could learn more new thing from that session which will be helpful me in my future studies.
